Carbon Sequestration
Consensus definition: The capture from the atmosphere and long-term storage of carbon dioxide through biological, chemical or physical processes. The process can be natural – such as natural sequestration by organisms, soils and the oceans, or a technological process – such as the deliberate pumping of waste carbon dioxide into deep geological storage formations.
