kelly PARKER, PhD
Professor and Chair of the Department of Philosophy at Grand Valley State University in Allendale, Michigan, where he has taught since 1992.
He began his research in Environmental philosophy while completing his doctoral work at Vanderbilt University.
His work has appeared in the journals Environmental Ethics and Environmental Values, as well as in the 1996 collection Environmental Pragmatism (Routledge, 1996).
He has been involved in environmental advocacy and activism in a variety of ways, including working for Greenpeace, serving on the board of the West Michigan Environmental Action Council, and as a founding member of the Greater Grand Rapids Food Systems Council.
His interests include developing an Environmental Studies pedagogy based on the humanities and civic learning methods.
