Solutions for me—I think I have 3 of them. The first one would be the balance. We need a better balance going forward. We need to use coal, nuclear, hydro, wind, solar, energy efficiency, energy conservation. We need to work on that balance, using pieces of each to keep rates affordable and sustainable in the long term. So that’s my first solution. Let’s create a better balance than we have today. There isn’t one silver bullet. Let’s work on that going forward.
The next solution for me is the transmission grid. We need to upgrade it. We need to improve it so we can get the new sources of generation where they belong and into the grid properly.
And third is clean coal technology. We need to utilize the technologies available to us today that make coal cleaner than it was 50 years ago. And we need to work with state and federal research facilities, government projects, to find even cleaner ways to use coal in the future. We have an abundant supply of coal in the United States and I think we need to do that, and we need to do it better than we did 20, 30, 40 years ago. And I think that’s where the big solutions…
