It means that you can count on something being there. I would say that we have relied upon earth’s climate; we have relied upon the resources that are available on earth. And because our population has grown so large and we’ve started to become so resource intensive, consuming nonrenewable resources, we’re getting to a point where we aren’t going to be able to rely on the earth. In other words, the earth will quit being reliable for us.
